On average, women spend close to a third of their lives after menopause. Dr Kimberley Elliott, a full member of the Australasian Menopause Society, leads this care, which all our GPs provide.

Symptoms range from minor and niggling to genuinely debilitating, and menopausal hormone treatment (MHT) can ease them for many women. For some women it also has a role in preventing osteoporosis. MHT is not right for everyone, so we go through the benefits and risks with you before anything is decided.
Your first consultation runs for 45 minutes, so there is time to talk through your symptoms, your history and what you want before we build a plan together. That might include exercise, diet, mindfulness, hormonal treatment (oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone) or non-hormonal options.
Our GPs also provide assessment and treatment for weight gain during perimenopause and after menopause.
We start with your history, symptoms and goals, arrange any tests you need first (such as breast screening, bone density, cholesterol or testosterone), and agree on a first plan.
We go through your results, weigh the risks and benefits, and decide together whether to start treatment.
We see you again, usually every three months, to review your symptoms and progress and adjust the plan as needed.
